As a counsellor I work both short term focussed and open-ended sessions, everyone has different needs and I try to accommodate what works for you. I use this flexible approach in the modalities used as I am trained and qualified in different therapeutic modalities, working collaboratively with clients to have their unique and tailored therapy.
I began to train as a therapist following experiences of sudden losses in my life and I knew that if I wished to support others, I would need to learn to do the best I could. I would consider myself as a warm and friendly person who can help people feel at ease quickly and my passion for learning and continuing to learn new approaches came from wanting to give the best to my clients. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Psychological Trauma at University of Chester where my research interests are around autism and sexual abuse. I hold a Msc in Counselling, a Post Grad Diploma in Person-Centred therapy, a Post Grad Certificate in CBT and I am EMDR trained. In 2018 I have won a local Health and Social Award, and I currently work as a Chief Executive Officer-Clinical for a specialist trauma organisation.
I have written and published articles for various journals and magazines, including being an Executive Contributor for Brainz Global Magazine.
I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing in a safe and confidential environment, with someone from outside your day-to-day life. This can be helpful to have someone who is not involved and impartial to discuss with. Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives - and perhaps a new understanding of yourself. Counselling isn’t about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own changes, which allows you to regain control back into your life.
I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems. As a fully-qualified counsellor I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics. I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society and EMDR Association UK.
Hypnotherapy is a state where you are aware of what is going on around you but your mind is so peaceful and relaxed that you are able to absorb the positive changes suggested.
I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and I often use this to help clients with anxiety, phobias, exam and driving tests, stopping smoking or vaping and weight loss. I also offer Gastric Band Hypnotherapy packages too.

Online Counselling takes place in a safe space from the comfort of your own home. You can meet with a counsellor who will listen with sensitivity and empathy - and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.
If you have trouble with relationships, anxiety, depression or trauma either recent or from childhood - counselling can give us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing. Processing your trauma will help you feel able to not be stuck or trapped by what happened to you or what you experienced. Although it can be difficult, the research shows it can also be transformational.
