Life doesn't always give us the time or space to process what we're going through. Psychotherapy and counselling offer exactly that: dedicated time, with someone trained to help, to work through what's on your mind and start moving forward.
As a counsellor I work in both short term, focused sessions and longer, open-ended work. Everyone's needs are different, and I try to accommodate whatever approach works best for you. I'm trained and qualified across several therapeutic modalities, and I work collaboratively with each client to build therapy that's genuinely tailored to them.
What Issues Can Psychotherapy Help With?
People come to me for support with a wide range of difficulties. Some of the more common issues I help with include:
If you don't see your particular situation listed here, please don't let that put you off getting in touch. These are simply some of the more common reasons people reach out.
Online counselling takes place in a safe space, from the comfort of your own home. You'll meet with a counsellor who listens with sensitivity and empathy, and without judgement. In the therapy space, thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in full confidence.
If you're struggling with relationships, anxiety, depression or trauma, whether recent or from childhood, counselling can give you a set of tools to help you understand what's causing these problems and how you can begin managing or resolving them.
Working together, I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you're facing. Processing trauma helps you feel less stuck or trapped by what happened to you or what you've experienced. It isn't always easy, but the research is clear that it can also be genuinely transformational.
Based in Kilwinning, North Ayrshire, I offer online and telephone psychotherapy sessions. This gives you flexibility and comfort, and means I'm able to work with clients right across Scotland and the wider UK, wherever you happen to be.
Sessions last around 50 minutes and can be arranged weekly or fortnightly, depending on what suits you. Because sessions take place online or by telephone, there's no need to worry about transport or parking, and at the end of each session you're straight back into your own safe, familiar environment.
If you do need to cancel a session, please give at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellations may be subject to a full session charge.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on |phone| if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services. Find out more by reading my Privacy Policy.
